There are two methods of getting links quickly that are ideal for turnkey websites.
The first of these, is though swopping links with other similar websites. Recently, this process has been frowned upon by some marketers and search engines, however it is still one of the quickest ways to get your site discovered and indexed by the search engines.

It's all about the quality of the link - not the quantity of links.

These directories may not be used by the millions of users that use google or yahoo on a daily basis, but they do each serve their own audience. There are hundreds of these directories online, with more starting up weekly.
More importantly, most web directories normally provide you with the opportunity to include your site FREE. This will give you an incoming link without the need to reciprocate. And the majority of search engines put higher importance on one way links than link exchanges.
